D. Alan Kerr, II, MD, Ph.D.

Overview

Dr. Daniel Alan Kerr II is a physician-scientist and hematologist-oncologist specializing in benign and malignant hematology and solid tumor oncology. He has more than ten years of experience and is a site investigator for several ongoing clinical trials, with primary clinical interests in lymphomas and myeloid diseases. Dr. Kerr has several publications, oral presentations, and abstracts on various oncology topics to his credit and is well-versed in translational research and clinical research protocols.

Dr. Kerr received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the renowned Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2011 and served as a Chief Medical Resident there. He also holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology and biochemistry from the University of Louisville. Among his many accomplishments are receiving the Dean's Citation Award for his Ph.D. dissertation and being named the Department of Internal Medicine's most outstanding senior resident.

Dr. Kerr followed his passion for teaching future medical professionals and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville from 2015-16. He joined ACTC after completing a three-year hematology and medical oncology fellowship program at Moffitt Cancer Center/the University of South Florida.

Dr. Kerr is an American Board of Internal Medicine diplomat and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
