Overview

Radiation oncology expert Dr. Clayton Alonso, MD, practices in Brooksville, Florida. He started working at ACTC after completing his Radiation Oncology residency. With over eight years of experience in his field, Dr. Alonso believes in educating his patients and helping them make informed decisions about their health.

Dr Clayton possesses a stellar academic record. He graduated magna with distinction laude in his undergraduate studies specializing in biology and economics at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He received his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, where he was chosen as Chief Resident in his third year. While completing his oncology residency, he also received the Constable Agarwal Award, the Clinical Excellence Award, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Later he completed his postgraduate internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Many prestigious medical boards have recognized him, including Sigma Xi', the American Board of Radiology, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, and the American Brachytherapy Society. Dr. Alonso has published papers on brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy), breast, lung, prostate, and rectal cancer, brain tumors, and cardiac sparing techniques.

Dr. Alonso is fluent in English and Spanish. He is a native of Miami. His interests include exercising, cooking, and touring Brooksville and the Tampa Bay region.
